North Ogden is a suburb of Ogden with 20,916 people at the 2020 census. It lies on SR-235 about three miles north of Ogden and covers about 6.5 square miles at the base of Ben Lomond Peak.

Settled by ranchers

North Ogden was settled by cattle ranchers from Ogden around 1850, and in the following year Jonathan Campbell returned with other families to stay permanently. Today it is a growing suburb, with newer subdivisions climbing toward Ben Lomond, a peak so prominent it can be seen from the Salt Lake City airport. A mix of older farmhouses and newer homes means a mix of plumbing. Older houses may still have galvanized pipe, while newer ones use plastic lines with many fittings. Either way, know where your main shut-off is and test it each fall before the cold arrives.
