Pleasant View is a city on the northern edge of Weber County with 11,083 people at the 2020 census. It covers about 6.7 square miles and is a suburban community of Ogden.

Out West

For its first 30 years Pleasant View was considered part of North Ogden, and it went by several names, including West District, Hot Springs District, Stringtown and simply "Out West". It was officially named Pleasant View in 1882 by Wilford Cragun, one of the first children born in the area. Early families included the Dunns, Mowers and Craguns. Today the city mixes older homes from its farming days with new subdivisions. In the older houses, look at the age of the water heater and the condition of the supply pipe. In the newer ones, check the shut-off valves and supply hoses, which are common early failure points.
